Job Vacancy: Senior Behavioural Scientist (Maternity Cover)

We are currently recruiting for a maternity cover position (fixed term of up to 12 months) for the role of Senior Behavioural Scientist within the Policy and Strategy unit at Walsall Council.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about applying behavioural insights to local government challenges and this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to lead and shape a behavioural science work pipeline in a dynamic local government setting. You will work across a wide range of projects including resident engagement, service improvement and public health.

The role also includes the line management of one behavioural science officer, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to gain or build on people management experience.

The position offers the chance to make real impact within a local government setting and to collaborate with a wide network of internal teams as well as external partners, local schools, voluntary community sector partners, academic colleagues and other local service providers.

We are open to considering secondment opportunities for candidates from other local authorities. We are also open to opportunities for remote and flexible working, depending on the right candidate’s needs and circumstances.
